We offer the map above and some basic information to assist you in navigating Yellowstone National Park. Keeping in mind that we speak with you as we book your tour, we are here to help you plan the rest of your trip, too.
Yellowstone National Park encompasses 2.2 million acres of spectacular flora, fauna, geothermals and waterfalls. Therefore, staying in more than one place is highly recommended. Since Lamar Valley Touring operates out of the Northeast Entrance, a night or two in one of the many accommodations in Silver Gate (silvergatelodging.com) or Cooke City, MT (cookecitychamber.org) will bring you into the Valley at daybreak, just in time to hear the howl of a wolf or watch the bison calves begin their morning frolic.
The North Entrance in Gardiner, MT offers white water rafting, horseback riding and fishing as well as the beautiful Mammoth Terraces five miles up the road. If staying there, Lamar Valley Touring will accommodate you as you drive just 45 minutes into the Northern Range to meet at the Tower Roosevelt Junction.
The West Entrance at West Yellowstone, MT gives easy (crowded but fun!) access for a couple of days to enjoy Yellowstone’s incredible geothermal features. Bubbling mud pots, sapphire blue hot springs and erupting geysers including Old Faithful never fail to delight as you visit the many geyser basins. If you’d like to stay next to Old Faithful as she erupts, the modern Snow Lodge or the world famous Old Faithful Inn will give you “ringside” seats every time. A stay in Canyon Village places you in the heart of the Park next to the awe inspiring Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River featuring the Upper and Lower Waterfalls and their many viewing points and hiking trails.
From the East Entrance, located near Cody, WY, the drive into the Park along the Shoshone River offers a unique scenic route with its many striking hoodoos and spires gracing the skyline.
And finally, the South Entrance is the gateway to Grand Teton National Park where the majestic peaks of the Tetons welcome you on your way to Jackson, WY.
Lamar Valley Touring, while focusing on “the Serengeti of America”, also accommodates multi day tours to other parts of the Park from the Northeast Entrance in Silver Gate/Cooke City, MT.
We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for considering Lamar Valley Touring!
